I am Elizabeth Quinton, the beauty-obsessed owner + makeup artist behind EQmakeup, an on-location pop-up beauty studio.
Yes, I have a pretty incredible job. I have the honor of teaching + sharing something that I love! But the truth is, my interactions are so much more than a makeup application. I get to share an energy + an experience with every face I touch. I am so lucky to be surrounded by an incredibly talented community including my friends + partners in the makeup + beauty industry, photographers, set designers + Charleston’s best wedding professionals.
You could say I was a bit of a dreamer. I always knew that my life would take me in a creative direction, but after exploring different options, I landed right where I was meant to be. My love for the world of makeup started long ago with my grandmothers. To this day, I can remember every step of their beauty rituals. + I can still picture my mom, applying her bright coral lips, courtesy of 1980’s Lancome, as she drove in her little red convertible. With me admiring from the back seat, I was always in awe of her precision without ever having to look in the mirror. It’s these classic moments + the glamour of a woman + her beauty routine, that started my love for this industry.
Starting my makeup career with MAC Cosmetics, almost 13 years ago, instilled a passion for continuing my education + always challenging myself to research + learn more. I am committed to these education opportunities + participate in some of the greatest hands-on classes offered in the United States. Recently, I had the honor of taking classes with some of the most admired artists today; Orlando Santiago, James Vincent + the Director of Global Artistry for NARS Cosmetics, James Boehmer. In just a couple of weeks, I will spend a week with The Powder Group in Provincetown for The Artist Summit. I am so grateful for these education opportunities + my outstanding friends, fellow artists + industry experts. It is a never-ending source of inspiration.
It is my privilege to share these experiences with you.
I currently live in Charleston, SC but am available for travel.

My very first blog post! Eep!! So very exciting.
The truth is, this site has been a long time coming. I am a bit of a perfectionist + between that + a crazy schedule, it has taken much longer than I anticipated. But, here we are. + I can promise you, it’s going to be good.
Along with this site, there is a major brand re-launch happening behind the scenes. I was hoping to share all the pretty, new things at once but I get so excited about every single thing that I put it out there as soon as it’s done! So it will come in stages + I know there will be edits + upgrades (that perfectionist thing again) but I am just too excited to not share. I sincerely hope that this blog will continue to change as I learn about the things you want from your beauty resource.
+ I love a good surprise, so expect a few of those.
If you know me, you know that I have a vision for every single thing I do, big or small + this site is no exception. I have been planning every little thing down to the perfect color of peach + my favorite font. I hope you enjoy it + I ask you to please be patient as I continue to figure out the tech world + finish our re-launch project.
In the meantime, stay tuned! We have great things coming your way. Our first series is in the making. We have bridal features galore thanks to my sweet + stunning brides + the amazingly talented wedding professionals I have the honor of working with. I have some incredible guest artists + beauty experts that have so kindly agreed to contribute. I am most excited about sharing what I love – the latest beauty news + product reviews. There really is so much more + I cannot wait to share!
I am still working hard on the next phase of this EQmakeup brand but would love to know — what do you want to see + hear from a beauty blog?
